Description
Louis Phillip Dresser Black was born in 1858 and was a prominent figure in the American civil rights movement. He was a lawyer, an activist, and a minister of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Black was a leader in the fight for racial equality and civil rights for African Americans. He helped to found the NAACP and supported peaceful protests against segregation. He argued for the integration of schools and the right to vote for African Americans. He believed that all people should be treated equally and should have the same rights regardless of their race or ethnicity. He worked tirelessly to end racism and discrimination and his legacy continues to inform our work today. He was an important advocate for change in the United States and around the world.
